So today in my Latin class, my professor said something pretty incredible to me. We were talking about majors and why I was in Latin class and I told him that I was a math ed major. He loved that I was taking Latin and doing math. One thing he described to me was that he hated math because he is a history man. He was never taught math with a history sense. The Hebrew's did math by writing it all out word for word. They didn't use symbols. Symbols were used much later in history. The symbols were actually added by some Philosopher that spoke Latin and it enabled the people to go further in math! The entire time we were having this conversation, I kept thinking to myself that I could possibly change the face of math curriculum. Or my students would think that I am crazy. Either way, that would be so cool! My professor also said that if he would have known that stuff earlier in life, he probably would have loved math so much more. It's crazy how life goes. He became a Latin professor when he could have done something with math. Holy molar, God's plan is amazing and real! Anyway, I found that super interesting and I thought that I should share it with you. Have a great day!
Much Love, The Ginger
