Oh My Bless

Holy cow! Life is just a happening! In just these last 2 days I have had 2 friends from high school get engaged! I roomed with one in college and spun with the other this last winter season. I know one has a pretty great guy, I have yet to really meet the other friends fiance, but he obviously has to be pretty good or else she wouldn't be engaged to him! Oh! Also, today another friends got married! So much marriage and happiness going on! It's insane!

**WARNING-TOUCHY FEELY COMMENTS COMING ON!**

All three of these ladies are pretty special in my life. Let's start with L.

Oh my bless L, you amazingly wonderful human being!! You and I had our first seasons together! Granted you were a few years older than I was, that still makes no difference! You have always been a wonderful example to me and I will never forget that! I believe that you were sent home from your mission not just because of health reasons, but because Heavenly Father wanted you to marry this man. He is obviously someone special in your life and I am so happy that you were able to find that joy in your life. I'm sad that I missed your wedding tonight, but I know that as you were both married and sealed in the temple, you were sealed for eternity and now you both have the opportunity to create your own worlds together! Your children will be yours forever and most importantly, you have each other for eternity. What more could you want in your life?! To have someone that loves you through thick and thin and wants to create galaxies with you? I think that is pretty special:) L, I am so incredibly happy for you:) and I cannot wait to see what your future holds for each other!

R. Girlfriend, I don't even know where to begin! I don't believe I met you until our sophomore year of high school and boy am I glad that we met! You have always had the Spirit of Christ ablaze in your eyes and you have let that shine through the way you live. I could not be more proud of the person you have become today:) I will never forget when I texted you this last semester about one of my crazy professors and all you had to say was, "just stick to what you believe and Heavenly Father will provide." now, that was paraphrasing, but it was to that effect. Wow, has that stuck with me! I often times worry about what in the world is going on in my life, that I freak out and have a little panic moment, but every time I am now able to remember that if I stick to my faith, Heavenly Father will make sure that I have what I need. Girlfriend, you will move mountains!!

And last, but certainly not least B. There is no doubt that we have had our ups and downs. And I regret to say that most of the downs were from my own stupidity. You were my very first roommate ever in life and I am so grateful for every experience we had together. Because from every experience, I was able to learn very valuable life lessons. A) learn to freaking share. It isn't that big of a deal and not that hard. (I had a hard time with that, and I apologize.) B) They are there for you, so you better be there for them! This is a lesson I am still striving to perfect, but I can say, I am better than I used to be. C) Just because you have a fight, does not mean that they hate you forever. People fight. It's a fact of life. Not everyone can get along. But what is important to remember is to let go of your pride to save a relationship. I cannot thank you enough for helping me to see my own faults and helped me to become a better person. You deserve someone who makes you feel special every day! Love you girly!

Friends, I know that the temple is the house of the Lord. It is prepared for Him and all those who are worthy to dwell within it. I am so excited for all of these beautiful people and cannot wait to see their life adventures with there eternal companions.

Much love,

The Ginger

St. Patrick's day

Since I am part Irish, I feel a little obligated to post about this subject. Today is the day of the Irish. If you look at the snapchat story on St. Patty's day, you will see many a people celebrating like wild in Dublin. I have now put it on my list to be somewhere in Ireland during St. Patrick's day. Yes, there will be a many drunken people, but really there will be drunk people anywhere anyway.

If you were ever curious, here is the story of how St. Patty's came about.

It is named after the Catholic saint Patrick. He was actually born in England and was brought by slavery to Ireland. He then escaped to France and became a priest. Through his religious journey he felt the need to return to Ireland and he was the one who brought back Christianity to Ireland. This is a day when lent is lifted in many countries and is the usual cause for drinking a lot. Fun stuff huh? Some other fun facts are

The 3 leaf shamrock: is a symbol from the Irish to explain the trinity.

Apparently they die the rivers green?!? This happened in Chicago and I guess has just been a tradition since then.

Corn beef and Cabbage: First off this stuff is nasty, but when the Irish immigrants arrived to America they were way too poor to be able to afford really anything so this became the staple. Nasty!!

I hope you enjoyed my post about my people! I do quite enjoy my Irish history:) and enjoy this beautiful picture of Ireland.

Much love,

The Ginger

Its Been a While

Hello everyone! Its been a while! Hence the title of my post. I have been moved home for 2 months now, and this was the right decision for me. I am attending UVU and actually have a job! I only started working about a week ago and I am loving it! I kind of wish I would have just stayed at home in the first place and I could have moved out now. There isn't anything I can do about it now, besides live with my decision, and I'm okay with it. I have changed my major from Mathematics Education to Elementary Education and I am much happier with that choice! I have already gone and observed teachers in elementary schools and it was so much fun! I got the opportunity to work the 2nd graders and holy cow they are so funny! They just kind of say whatever and have yet to understand what is really important and what is work arguing. It kills me.

On another topic, today in institute, we talked about developing our talents. One of the quotes that was shared was about how we all were born to be rulers in the next world by President Kimball. One of the girls in class asked how she could understand that SHE was a ruler. Her point was Pres. Kimball wasn't a prophet when she was alive. So how does this quote apply to her? The answers from the class were absolutely amazing!! I believe the most applicable answer was from one of the boys in class that said that to God, time doesn't exist. Time is a very material thing and just because Pres. Kimball wasn't a prophet during our time, does not make his words not applicable to us, or else the scriptures wouldn't be applicable to us either. He stated that the scriptures were written by prophets of old and they are the mouthpiece of God. They were revealed to us to help us return to Christ and be prepared for the 2nd coming. I totally agree with that statement!! I KNOW with every fiber of my being that the scriptures and the words of the prophet are revealed throughout time and they apply to every single one of us no matter what generation we are living in. It is amazing to see how much this gospel blesses my life when I follow the words of the prophet. I love this church and everything about it. My testimony is still growing and I can't wait to see how much more it develops!
